1691 Ports in Virginia

Ports were built in Charles City, Gloucester, Nansemond, Elizabeth City, York, James City Middlesex, Northumberland, Rappahannock and Accomac. The port for Lower Norfolk was placed at the mouth of the eastern branch of the Elizabeth River; for Stafford it was located on Potomac Creek; for Northampton, on Cherrystone Creek, and for Lancaster, on the west side of the mmouth of the Corotoman.
