Martin's Brandon

The patent to Martin's Brandon of some 4,550 acres was acquired by three English merchants, one of whom, Richard Quincy, was a kinsman of Shakespeare's son-in-law of that name. Source:  In 1616, the grant was acquired by Captain John Martin (1562-1632) who build the plantation located in Prince George County, still standing today.
