Colonel Nathaniel Littleton, one of the most wealthy and influential citizens in the Colony, was a brother of Sir Edward Littleton, Lord Chief Justice of England, and the son of Sir Edward Littleton of Henley in Shropshire. That makes him a lineal descendant of Sir Thomas Littleton, one of the wealthiest and most famous writers on law in England. (pictured)
