Nassawadox Creek

Nassawadox Creek
Stephen Charlton in his last will and testament dated 1654, directed that should his daughter (an only child) die without issue that the mansion in his which he dwelt as well as the outbuildings, orchards, gardens and surrounding dividend of land lying on Nasswadox Creek, should become the property of the local parish, to be reserved indefinitely for the support of a clergyman of the Church of England.  Source: Northampton County Records, vol. 1654-5, p. 57
