Hugh Yeo

The Yeo family of Virginia traces their ancestry to the squirearchy of Devonshire where a Yeo had been a member of Parliament from Totness as early as 1557. One of the gentlemen who subscribed to the defense of the kingdom when the invasion of the Armada was threatened was Leonard Yeo, a leading citizen of that time. The first to emigrated to Virginia, also named Leonrd Yeo, settled in Elizabeth City, Virginia.

Pictured is Totness, England in Devonshire.
