Ashby-de-la Zouch castle. Sir John Zouch of the ancient de la Zouch family of Derbyshire, came to the colony and acquired a large tract of land on the James River. About 1624 Sir John Zouch of one of the most prominent families of Derbyshire acquired a large tract of land on the James River, taking up residenc there for awhile.
