Capt. Robert Higginson

Capt. Robert Higginson was sent to Virginia in 1644 to build a palisade at the Middle Plantation. He was the son of a painter-stainer whose place of business was in London. Emperor Powhatan was waging his wars against the white man, having already massacred many settlers in 1622/1623.
