Sons of Noblemen Series: Henry Woodhouse

Henry Woodhouse arrived in the Colony about 1637 and descended from Sir William Woodhouse of WEaxham, Norfolk who had married the widow of Sir Henry Parker, who was the daughter of Sir Philip Cathorpe. Woodhouse's son had married a daughter of Sir Nicholas Bacon, the famous Lord Keeper during the reign of Elizabeth and sister of the celebrated chancellor and philosopher, Francis Bacon.  The fruit of this marriage (Captain Henry Woodhouse) and the father of the emigrant, became the Governor of Bermuda in 1623 and aspired to the same offie in Virginia.
