Indian Customs

Join this blog for more interesting information about the first patriots to Virginia whose sacrifices and actions led a path to the freedom which ultimately resulted in the American Dream.

This is a 18th century sketch of an Indian woman and boy. The boy wears a necklace of runtees (beads on a string) and carries an Indian rattle in his right hand; the left hand carries a roasting ear of corn. The woman wears a necklace of peak, while she carries a gourd.  Litho. from A History of Virginia by Robert Beverley.
