Carter Berkeley of "Edgewood" Plantation in Virginia

Carter Berkeley was the fifth child of Nelson and Elizabeth (Wormeley Carter) Berkeley and was born at "Airwell" in Hanover County, Virginia on June 20, 1768. He was a direct descendant of Colonel Edmund Berkeley of Barn Elms in Middlesex County. His maternal grandfather was Landon Carter of "Sabine Hall" of Richmond County. Carter Berkeley was an old Virginia physician.
