A House for 100 pds!

Typical 17th century Virginia Home

Dixon, Adam, petitioned the king in 1622 that he and his companion  had built a house at a cost of 100 pds.  Windows were covered with oil clothes until the expensive lead windows could be imported. Abstracts of Proceedings of Virginia Company of London, Vol. I, pp. 189, 190.
