John and Henry Gills

In 1684 a quarrel occurred in the court-house of Lower Norfolk County during a session of the justices. Two brothers, John and Henry Gills, drew their swords on their opponents. By-standers interferred and prevented a bloody combat. The two brothers were put in jail. Sourcew: Lower Norfolk Records, Vol. 1675-86, Orders, May 15, 1684.
